New way to pay gives parkers more flexibility

Is your coffee catch up running over, but your parking metre running out? Thanks to new technology implemented by City of Ryde there’s a new way to pay in Macquarie Park - without even leaving the café.

New smart parking metres have been installed across Macquarie Park, meaning you can now pay for (and top up) your parking using the NSW Government's Park'nPay app. Park’n’Pay uses pay-by-plate parking, meaning paper tickets have gone digital, and you get more flexibility.

For the best experience, we recommend you download the Park'nPay app on the Apple Store or Google Play before arriving in Macquarie Park. Set up gives you options to enter multiple vehicles, your credit card information and an email address for receipts.

Before you leave you can explore an overview of parking locations. When you’ve found your spot and parked safely, simply tap the icon of the metre closest to you on the map and follow the payment steps - easy!

Parking in Macquarie Park went cashless last month as part of upgrades to provide smarter access. If you’re not ready to upgrade to an app, you can still use parking meters - enter your number plate into the meter and then pay by debit or credit card.

COVID-19 has changed travel and commuting behaviours in Macquarie Park, with more people telling us they want to drive here in the future. In our report, Finding the path forward 2021, the number of people intending to drive increased significantly - up 8% on pre-pandemic levels.

As we all begin our “new normal” routine, Park’n’Pay will make your arrival more efficient, and give you greater flexibility.

March 2022 will see the most significant in-person return of students and business people to Macquarie Park since the start of the global pandemic. Connect Macquarie Innovation District’s Macquarie Park is OPEN campaign will welcome everyone back by highlighting Macquarie Park’s amenity, creating moments to bring people together, and boosting confidence across the Park.
