Jordan Lane elected as the new ‘MP for Macquarie Park’
Connect Macquarie Park Innovation District congratulates Jordan Lane on his election as the new State Member of Parliament for Ryde, including Macquarie Park.
This result follows an extremely close vote count, with Labor and the Liberals securing almost exactly 50% of ballots each, and no clear majority until 2 weeks after election day.
Representing the NSW Liberal Party, Jordan has significant personal ties to Ryde. He served as a local councillor for the City of Ryde from 2017, and as Mayor of Ryde in 2022.
With local MP Victor Dominello retiring, Jordan pledged to follow his predecessor’s work as a strong local voice, focussed on new and upgraded schools, the new Ryde hospital, and green open space.
Connect MPID’s members were invited to meet Jordan recently, when we joined forces with the Macquarie Park Ryde Business Chamber to host a pre-election event with candidates vying for Ryde’s votes.
Event attendees heard from each of the running candidates about their goals for our innovation district.
General Manager at Connect MPID, Mark Ames, congratulated Jordan on his election win:
“We congratulate Jordan on his successful election to the State Parliament, where he will represent Macquarie Park and Ryde.”
“Appointed as a NSW Premier’s Priority Precinct in 2020, Macquarie Park innovation district is a critical player in Sydney’s economic prosperity - offering thousands of jobs to the people of Ryde and beyond.”
“With our district on the cusp of further significant change, we’ll be relying on Jordan to champion Macquarie Park on Macquarie Street, and wish him every success.”
A 20-year masterplan which will guide the way Macquarie Park grows was adopted by the State Government last year, including major infrastructure, transport initiatives and space for innovation to grow.
