Memjet joins Connect Macquarie Park Innovation District
Exciting news! Memjet (Lyonpark Road) is the latest leading employer to join Connect Macquarie Park Innovation District.
A world leader in the printing technologies space, Memjet produces the core components for its commercial partners’ printing machines. This includes products by Gallus, Canon and Konica Minolta.
Memjet’s new membership with Connect MPID follows their recent development of a new advanced manufacturing facility in Macquarie Park. Committed to backing Australian innovation, Memjet’s new facility includes a collaborative manufacturing centre and accommodates 140 engineers and scientists.
Memjet has embraced the benefits of vertical integration in Australia, with Chief Officer Jason Thelander suggesting that a stable economy, skilled workforce, and great scientific and engineering capability is key to their success:
“Our manufacturing is competitive with Asia”, says Thelander.
“Local manufacturing means a US$15-20 million increase on Australian value add per year”.
By investing in Australia and Macquarie Park, Memjet will gain increased control of their international supply chains, and increase collaboration with local partners, with their advanced robotics allowing rapid reconfiguration of production lines.
“This is high-efficiency collaborative manufacturing - and it has a great future in Australia”, said Thelander.
Chair of Connect MPID, Charlotte Stratton, welcomed Memjet:
“Partnering with Connect MPID puts Memjet in great company with other leading organisations who are committed to accelerating Australia’s original innovation district.”
“Our members include BOC, Fujifilm, Johnson & Johnson, Schneider Electric plus the State and Local Government, and we’re looking forward to working with Memjet.”
Membership of Connect Macquarie Park Innovation District is open to employers, landowners and institutions based in Macquarie Park and North Ryde. Get in touch to register your interest:
