The Greater Sydney Commission has been tasked by the Premier to lead the accelerated delivery of key economic and innovation precincts across Greater Sydney including the Macquarie Park Innovation District.

Chief Commissioner of The Greater Sydney Commission, Geoff Roberts AM, said today:

“These precincts are the foundation for growing Greater Sydney’s capacity as a centre for innovation, attracting top businesses from around the world and creating new jobs and opportunities for the people of our metropolis of three cities,” Mr Roberts said

“Tech Central, Westmead and Macquarie Park are already seeing world-class universities, start-ups, tech leaders and the community creating innovation ecosystems.  Meadowbank is well on the way to becoming an education and employment precinct,” Mr Roberts said.

Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said the jobs created by the acceleration of these economic precincts are a key part of the NSW Government’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan.

“These precincts will be the engine rooms for job creation, helping to train and attract the best and brightest talent who will be at the forefront of our economic recovery.”
