First annual impact report released by Connect MPID

Connect Macquarie Park Innovation District’s Board of Directors have marked the success of our inaugural year by endorsing our first Annual Report, and nominating a new Chair of the Board.

The report highlights the impact Connect MPID made in the financial year to 30 June 2022; from attracting new members, to supporting the Macquarie Park innovation district community through the Omicron lockdown.

More than 2,000 people attended Connect MPID events during the year, including member-only briefings and workshops, and a major street festival, where hundreds of Macquarie Park employees reunited with their teams in person again, MPEXPO.

Other key highlights included member-first reports, and the publication of our Road Map for Macquarie Park at April’s Macquarie Park Summit.

The report was ratified at a recent annual general meeting held at Optus (Lyonpark Road).

Connect MPID’s accountants presented an independent overview of our strong not-for-profit financial position. We concluded the year with a small operating surplus, and with 54% of operating income derived from our business members.

Connect MPID’s strategic direction is led by a Board of Directors comprised of local leaders who generously volunteer their time to help guide our progress, including representatives from Macquarie University, the City of Ryde, the NSW Government (Transport for NSW) plus leading workplaces in Macquarie Park.

The Board welcomed two new Directors, from leading local employers Abbott and Fujifilm Business Innovation Australia, and elected Charlotte Stratton, Head of Workplace, Leasing & Asset Management at Stockland as the new Chairperson.
