Seminar: Silicon Solar Cells, recent advances and remaining challenges

EVENT DATE

Wednesday, 17 November

TIME

1:00pm

LOCATION

Online via Zoom

Solar power has experienced decades of exponential growth and now represents around 10% of all Australian energy production. And by 2050, it’s predicted 63% of the primary energy supply across the world will come from renewable energy sources.

There are opportunities in front of us to advance solar technology, improve solar energy production and accelerate the uptake of renewable energy. Join the team from Macquarie University’s Sustainable Energy Research Centre to find out more about these opportunities and the challenges we face as we look to minimise the effects of climate change.

You’ll hear Professor Darren Bagnall and Dr David Payne share their insights on the recent advances and challenges for silicon solar cells.

The Sustainable Energy Research Centre events aim to foster cross-discipline collaboration between industry, government and researchers to develop innovative solutions and technologies to drive the transition to a sustainable energy system.
