The United Way Walkathon is an exciting and purpose driven event run by the Macquarie Park Business Community Partnership. Each year more than 600 people from companies in Macquarie Park take part in this fun filled team event, all in the spirit of supporting communities they live and work in.
So far, this initiative has supported over 1,000 kids in Ryde area to be a part of United Way’s early literacy program -the Imagination Library. This is responsible for getting books into the hands of kids (and their carers) on a monthly basis, fostering a love for reading and helping them start school ready to learn. This year they want to reach a further 500 children in the Ryde area that need support.
The corporates involved utilise the event as a chance to get staff together in person, have a great team building experience and do something worthwhile for the local community.
Cost: $1,250 to enter a team of 10 people
