1,600 patients treated as new WiSE Medical facility marks one month milestone
Innovative health provider WiSE Medical have treated more than 1,600 patients since moving to their new walk in specialist emergency clinic on Khartoum Road, Macquarie Park, last month.
WiSE are the first company to open their doors at Stockland’s M_Park innovation precinct.
WiSE - who are members of Connect MPID - moved to a new state-of-the-art space in the first of four buildings planned for the first stage of M_Park, and will be soon be joined by other medical, life sciences and technology companies including global hearing health leaders Demant.
A local success story, WiSE started in Macquarie Park in 2017 before expanding to Queensland and planning further clinics across Australia.
Patients pay a ‘facility fee’ to enter the clinic, after which most services are bulk-billed to Medicare - while offering very little waiting time compared to the public health service.
Founder and CEO of WiSE Dr Pankaj Arora explained Macquarie Park was the perfect place to test their proof of concept before expanding.
He also shared his approach to healthcare while showing people around the new clinic:
“I asked myself “How can I walk out of my workplace happy?” That was my intention in starting WiSE - creating a space where I want to work, in the way I want to work, so that when I go home happy I know others have also left happy. If I am happy, it means my patients are happy.”
More than 300 fractures have been treated at the new facility, and 300 ECGs performed in its first month of operation, while average wait times are less than 20 minutes.
Connect MPID caught up with Dr Arora earlier this year, while construction of the new Macquarie Park clinic was underway:
The innovative healthcare services provider has created new space for emergency rooms, X-ray, CT and ultrasound, dental, in-house pathology, physiotherapy and specialist consulting rooms at their new Macquarie Park HQ.
The opening of the new Khartoum Road clinic comes as both the resiential and worker populations of Macquarie Park increase.
