Connect Macquarie Park Innovation District (CMPID) welcomes the release of the Federal Government’s budget which provides funding for new transport infrastructure and opportunities to build high-tech manufacturing capacity at Australia's original innovation district.

Macquarie Park has been allocated $115 million for a bus depot to provide infrastructure for zero emission buses planned for the area and an additional $10 million to accelerate the bus interchange development which has previously been announced.

Other wider announcements that can impact the district include:

  • $22.7 billion Future Made in Australia package around industry growth in the clean energy sector

  • The strategic review of Australia's R&D system can help ensure value is maximised from research investment which is a strength of the Macquarie Park innovation district and

  • $38.2 million to scaleup the Government Women IN STEM programs and science engagement to ensure the development of a skilled and diverse STEM workforce

CMPID and it's members look forward to working through these projects and opportunities to help grow the economic, productivity and community impacts for Macquarie Park.
