Macquarie Park Transport Changes: More Connectivity and Efficiency

Macquarie Park is gearing up for significant transformations in the coming months. The NSW Government has just announced that the eagerly anticipated extension of the Metro line from Sydenham will open on Sunday 4th August promising faster and more efficient access to Macquarie Park.

Adjustments to the local bus network are on the way to enable more commuters to access the Metro and to reduce duplication of services along the Metro route, improving commute times and reducing congestion. While services like the 259, 294, and 619 will be discontinued, modifications to routes including the 288 from the City will enhance alignment with the new Metro service. By optimising the bus network to complement the Metro extension, commuters can look forward to a more efficient and integrated transportation experience.

Several key routes will see an increase in frequency, such as the 611 from Blacktown, the 550 and 545 from Parramatta, and the 292 from the City to Marsfield ensuring smoother journeys for residents, employees, and visitors to Macquarie Park.

With a direct 18-minute journey from Barangaroo and enhanced connections to multiple lines, the Metro service expansion will increase accessibility to Macquarie Park for employees, students and visitors from across Sydney.
