Professor S. Bruce Dowton also joins the Innovation and Productivity Council. Vice Chancellor and President of Macquarie University, Professor Dowton has been a key player in the institution’s ascendancy and growth, re-committing the University’s deep relationship with industry and its place in the heart of Macquarie Park innovation district.
Mark Ames, General Manager at Connect Macquarie Park Innovation District, welcomed their appointments:
“Having two local leaders join the State’s Innovation and Productivity Council is testament to our area’s impact as an established and successful driver of innovation.
Last year the Council published new research on innovation districts and the role of anchor institutions like Macquarie University, noting the exceptional collaboration between government, academia and big business already found in Macquarie Park.”
