Cybersecurity will receive a boost from a new 32MW data facility recently announced by Macquarie Data Centres (MDC) for their Talavera Road campus.

Intellicentre 3 Super West is designed to attract investment to Australia from global companies looking to expand into the Asia Pacific region while meeting stringent global enterprise and government specifications.

“The NSW digital economy is rapidly growing, and this project will create world-class infrastructure and valuable long-term jobs in the digital and cyber security sector,” said Macquarie Telecom Group CEO David Tudehope

The project, MDC’s largest in Sydney, is predicted to create more than 1,200 jobs in Macquarie Park across the construction, engineering, technology and cybersecurity fields, and is expected to be complete in late 2023.

IC3E will complement the growing data and cybersecurity industry in Macquarie Park, including data centre providers NEXTDC and the Optus Macquarie University Cyber Security Hub.
