Schneider Electric need you! Competition opens to foster next green innovation leaders

Students from around the world - including right here in Sydney - are invited to pitch their big idea in Schneider Electric’s Go Green 2022 global competition to deliver sustainable innovation.

Schneider Electric (Banfield Road) are giving students an opportunity to present to industry leaders and receive mentoring from experts in the field. There’s a €10,000 Euro prize up for grabs, too!

Charise Le, Chief Human Resources Officer at Schneider Electric, said the competition was a fantastic opportunity:

“At Schneider Electric, being empowered is part of our DNA as we strongly believe freedom breeds innovation,”

“Through Schneider Go Green we look for empowered and passionate students with bold and sustainable ideas. We believe access to energy is a basic human right and this global competition provides new ways to do that.”

The competition is open to Bachelor and Master’s students from any location, with Australian entries closing on 31 March 2022.

The global competition is being delivered in partnership with software giant AVEVA, who also have a base in Macquarie Park.

Despite the challenges of the ongoing pandemic, the last competition attracted more than 25,000 entries from 130 countries.

This year’s competition has five topic areas, all focused on improving the future these students will live in:

  • Access to Energy

  • Homes of the Future

  • Supply Chain of the Future

  • Grids of the Future, and

  • De[coding] the Future

General Manager at Connect Macquarie Park Innovation District Mark Ames welcomed the competition:

“Schneider Electric boast a state-of-the-art office right here in Macquarie Park and are one of our area’s leading employers”

“They’re throwing their doors open and inviting the best new ideas in - not just from the 40,000 bright minds studying here in Macquarie Park, but to students from around the world.”

“Innovation doesn’t happen in a vacuum, and I’m thrilled to see a local leader giving smart young people a hand up.”

“Smart and sustainable solutions are needed to address some of the world’s most pressing issues, and I can’t wait to see the results Schneider Go Green will produce!”
