Lifelong learning will continue to be a focus for Macquarie Park following a NSW Government budget pledge to build a new school in the centre of Sydney’s leading innovation district.

More than $16 million has been set aside for the Macquarie Park Education Precinct, planned for the Epping Road site formerly occupied by North Ryde High School.

With 7,600 homes forecast to be built in the precinct over the next 20 years, this new campus will include both primary and high schools to keep up with growing demand.

North Ryde High School rose to prominence as a stand in for “Summer Bay High” on long-running soap opera Home & Away, and for its most noted alumini; Premier of NSW Gladys Berejikklian.

Macquarie Park is home to a significant education sector, including world-class Macquarie University, Morling theological college and arts-oriented Excelsia College. Macquarie Park is also home to a private teaching hospital, the first of its kind in Australia, and the NSW Department of Education.
