World-leading sleep study centre will move to Macquarie Park
The world’s best sleep and respiratory research centre will move to Macquarie Park innovation district, following the creation of a new affiliation with Macquarie University.
Woolcock Institute for Medical Research see more than 250 patients per week and conduct approximately 2,000 sleep studies a year - and are ranked by Times Higher Education as the number one specialist sleep and respiratory health research centre in the world.
The move follows the establishment of a primary affiliation between Macquarie University and the Woolcock Institute, with the aim of accelerating the scope and impact of sleep research in Australia.
More than 200 researchers will create a new home within the University hospital’s health precinct in Macquarie Park, creating close ties with Macquarie’s integrated medical research, teaching and clinical services.
MQ Health and the Woolcock will partner on clinical trials for new therapies and innovative approaches to patient management.
